Funding Your Projects
There are a number of incentives to help Oregonians pay for energy effciency and renewable energy projects. Be sure to check the most current requirements for each program listed before you buy or begin a project.
 
State of Oregon Incentives
Oregon incentives (tax credits and loans) save energy, help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save you money.
 
Tax credits cover a percentage of eligible project costs - the incremental cost of the system or equipment that is beyond standard practice.
Residential Energy Tax Credit
Available for home owners who are Oregon residents (and renters who own a qualifying appliance or system).

Oregon Business Energy Tax Credit 
Available for trade, business or rental property owners with a business site in Oregon. Non-profit organizations, tribes or public entities can partner with an Oregon business or resident using the Pass-through Option.
Energy Loan Program (SELP) 
Low-interest, fixed-rate, long-term loans for qualified projects that invest in energy conservation, renewable energy, alternative fuels, or create products from recycled materials. Loans start at $20,000.
 
Energy Trust of Oregon 
Provides customers of Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural and Cascade Natural Gas with rebates for qualifying energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
 
Your Local Utility
Some local utilities offer incentives. Look for the phone number on your utility bill and contact them directly.
 
Federal Incentives

The Energy Star site also has information on federal energy tax credits.
